I hope your wife is better. I really sympathize with her.
Let me just say I've suffered from pimple and acne throughout half my lifetime. Being male, where make-up, concealer and all that is out of the question, I'd say I have probably had it worse than your wife.
I firmly believe the biggest mistake people make - I certainly did - is failing to address the problem - it is a problem, as anyone who has been there can attest to - as a situation which warrants a lifestyle change and instead look for quick-fixes.
In my experience, you can put on the strongest medicine, the most expensive creams with the most specialised ingredients and it STILL won't go away, at least not for long.
Do you know what really did it for me? Three things: Regular exercise, diet changes - cutting excess sugar and diary - and more sleep. I also made sure I NEVER went to bed without first washing my face and making sure everything was nice and clean. I know it doesn't sound like much, but these things add up over a long stretch of time - my skin was getting cleaner day by day.
As for the remaining marks themselves, my case is not as severe nowadays that I would consider laser. If you want to go down that road, that is up to you. Just make sure you find a doctor that knows what he's doing.
I am gonna drop a relevant page I find extremely helpful and informative for all future interested parties: http://ohealthyeah.com/acne-pimples/
Please, let me know how your wife did. I hope all went well.
